It's official! We are now into the last trimester!! Yeah!!
Boy has this been a busy week. We had our breastfeeding class last Thursday night. Again, we covered a lot of information in a short amount of time. One thing that I did learn is that it is possible to breastfeed both babies at the same time, but it will take effort to learn to do this. Olmsted has a really good lactation program, and I plan on taking advantage of their services to help me through it.
We had another ultrasound this morning. Baby A is now in a head's down position, which is where we want him/her to be. The technician thought that they were pretty well settled in and they should stay there for the duration. Baby B is still breach, but there is still plenty of time for them to turn. The tech said that one is still "free floating" in there, while Baby A is pretty well set. Baby A weighed in at 2 lbs 14 oz, which she said is about 5 days ahead of schedule. Baby B, on the other hand weighed in at 2 lbs 16 oz, 6 days ahead. If they keep growing the way that they have (fingers crossed!!), we should have some good size babies for twins! We were figuring in the 5 to 6 pound range before, but the way things are going, they could be in the 6 to 7 range, if not more, very easily!
We also met with the doctor today as well. She said that everything looked great as far as she could tell. The lab work from the last appointment all came back perfect, which is what we were assuming. We start going in now every 2 weeks instead of every 4, so our next appointment is on March 4th. We will only have one more ultrasound yet before they are born. It should be scheduled for sometime the middle of March.
I have come down with a really nasty cold. I have a very bad cough with congestion and an occasional fever. It wouldn't be so bad, but I cough so hard that I can feel Baby A's bony rear-end pressing into my diaphram which really does not feel so nice. Sometimes I think that one is going to come out the top of my stomach if I cough too hard!
Kory has really gotten a lot done in the basement. All of the glue is up and the floor is primed for the self-leveler. He also got the leveling done tonight so that he can tile and grout most of the weekend. Once that project is done, then the room upstairs can be emptied out to prepare for the impending arrival!

27 Weeks
Wow, the time sure has seemed to fly! We had our birthing class last Friday night and all day Saturday. We learned about different types of birth and pain medications, different breathing and relaxation techiques, had a tour of the birth center, and that's not even half of it!! It was a lot of information in a short amount of time, but it was worth it. I feel a lot more calm now that I know what to expect when I get to the hospital for that stage of things. We have our next class, a breastfeeding class, on Thursday of this week.
