18 Weeks

Today we had our first appointment with our new doctor, Dr. White. We both really liked her. She's a whirlwind of activity and very outgoing, optomistic, and energetic. I think we will do well with her. We started to talk a little about the delivery; just the different options and how they determine which one they have to do. It is almost all based on the position of Twin A, the one closest to the cervix. Hopefully it will all work out so that I don't have to have a c-section, but I am preparing myself for that possibility, however. Again we got to hear the heartbeats. They were kind of hard to find, as the babies keep moving around ALOT!!
We had the big ultrasound today also. It was the anatomy ultrasound, where they checked and measured all the arms and legs, the brain, the head, the spine, and looked at all of the internal organs that are visible at this time; we saw the stomach, the kidneys, the bladder, and the heart. We saw the heartbeats again and both were really strong. Both of the twins are growing great! They now measure between 12.5 and 13 centimeters. Twin B weighs 9 oz and Twin A weighs 8 oz. Twin B still wouldn't hold still for the pictures or the measurements. I'm not sure that that one sleeps at all. Twin A on the other hand was more active than ever before. He/she kept rolling over and making it hard for the tech to take the needed measurements.

So far everything has gone exceptionally well. I have had a textbook pregnancy, and, knock on wood, it has been really boring. I really hope that things continue just as they have been!!

Twin B's Profile

You can see Twin B's foot in the picture above!

Twin A's feet are right by Twin B's head. I wonder how many times A has kicked B.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Twin A is a thumb sucker!
