It's hard to believe that in just a few weeks, we will have 2 new lives in our house! Time has really gotten away from us!
We had another doctor's appointment today. We met a new doctor, Dr. Hoffman. We both liked him. Our other doctor is away at a training at the Mayo Clinic for the next few months. Anyway, Dr. Hoffman was very personable and gave a lot of information. He listened to the heartbeats (which sounded great!) and then we started to talk more about the delivery and our options. I asked him if I would be induced at a certain time or what the normal procedure was. He told us that they would not induce me unless they had to or if I start to go into the 39th week. Twins are considered full term at 38 weeks, as they develop faster than a singleton. He said that they really want to let me start labor spontaneously, like normal, and they will only induce if they have to. Because my uterus is expanded so much extra, induction can and will take longer than with a singleton, so they try not to do it. It draws out the process a lot more. He also told us that with twins, I won't be kept in the one birthing room like singleton mothers are. I start out in that room, and then be moved into a larger surgical room.
We also had another class one on one with an instructor about multiple births. We talked some more about some of the things that Dr. Hoffman had mentioned, got to watch a video of a vaginal twins birth, and then toured the birth center again, this time also getting to see the other delivery room. It is nice to be able to see where I'm going to end up. It really helps me to relax and not worry. Anyway, the room is all set up for emergency anything. In this room, they have everything that need to do vaginal deliveries, ultrasounds, and c-sections. They will have an anesthesiologist waiting in the hallway just in case of an emergency c-section, and we will probably be talking to them before as well.
On another note, the basement project is almost completed. Kory had gotten the floor prepped before, so he has spent the last few nights laying the tile, and last night he got all of the grout in. All that's left is to pop the trim back on and move the stuff into the room from upstairs. He hopes to get that done sometime this week so that he can paint the babies room this weekend. We're getting closer!!

Sara and Kory -
I am so glad to hear that everything is going great!! I can't wait to see pictures. Mom said she had fun at your shower. I hope you enjoy the Bumbo Seat. I have one that I used with Dane and we really liked it. Good luck with the delivery and I hope everything goes smoothly. You two will make great parents!
